eGames Lab approved and signed!

The acceptance term for the eGames Lab project was officially signed last Saturday, July 23rd.

In a ceremony at the Electricity Museum in Lisbon, the event was attended by His Excellency the Prime Minister, as well as the Minister of Economy and the Sea, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Territorial Cohesion and the Minister of Higher Education .

The eGames Lab project will constitute a cluster of creative industries and video game production in the country, creating more than 130 new qualified jobs out of a total of 220 jobs.

During the ceremony, a short presentation was made by the project leader and WOW’s CEO, Dr. Miguel Campos.

Established in the picturesque city of Funchal, Portugal, in 2008, WOWSystems emerged as a beacon of creativity.

Our initial focus revolved around the intricate realm of interactive multimedia solutions, catering specifically to the realms of retail, entertainment, and culture.

During those formative years, we fearlessly ventured beyond borders, deploying our groundbreaking solutions in far-flung corners of the globe, from the vibrant streets of Rio de Janeiro to the enchanting alleys of Lisbon, and even reaching the shores of Abu Dhabi and the quaint landscapes of the tiny Corvo Island.

In 2009, our horizons expanded as we delved into the captivating realm of web and mobile app design and development, encompassing both iOS and Android platforms. Alongside this venture, we embarked on the journey of distributing our very own software, including the illustrious Delineato Pro, which earned the prestigious distinction of being showcased by Apple in 2013.

Driven by our formidable academic background, our path naturally gravitated towards captivating research and development projects, where we sought to pioneer uncharted territories in the realm of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. With a touch of artistry, we skillfully applied the principles of emotional design to traditional sectors like health and home care, infusing them with a fresh perspective.

The year 2022 saw us venture into the exhilarating domain of gaming, as we harnessed our mastery of Unreal Engine 5 to craft and bring to life two compelling titles for the gaming community on both PC and PlayStation platforms.

Now, as we reflect upon the passage of 15 years since our inception, we find ourselves filled with excitement and anticipation for the forthcoming decade and a half. The wonders and possibilities that lie ahead for us and our esteemed clientele are boundless.
